3M SJ3550 Dual Lock is a reclosable fastener from the 250 stem density family, featuring black mushroom-shaped stems and a white acrylic foam adhesive. It bonds well to metals, acrylic, polycarbonate, ABS, and many other substrates while providing strong, durable fastening that can be opened and closed repeatedly. With excellent temperature resistance, SJ3550 is widely used for indoor mounting, equipment assembly, signage, and industrial attachment applications. It can mate with SJ3542 (170 stem density) and SJ3541 (400 stem density) to achieve different fastening strengths.

3M Dual Lock has three types density, which are type 170, type 250 and type 400.
Type 170 is the lower density mushroom stems which need to use together with type 400 when applied, and type 170 is including 3M SJ3552, 3M SJ3542, 3M SJ 3562.
Type 250 is medium density which can be used independently, and it can be easily peeled off and reclosable for thousands of times. Type 250 is including 3M SJ3550, 3MSJ3540, 3MSJ3560
Type 400 is high density which is very hard to peel off , it’s usually used for permanently fixing or used together with type 170 or type 250 to provide different strength combinations.

3M dual lock series is convenient and faster to use compared to traditional fastening methods, such as screws, nuts or bolts.
