DUPONT NOMEX 416LAM is designed for use in electrical flexible laminate insulation. It has three types of thickness which is 0.05 mm (2 mil), 0.08 mm (3 mil) and 0.13 mm (5 mil) respectively. It can be single side or double side laminated with Mylar/PET/Kapton film, and the most common construction are NM(Nomex + Mylar film), NMN(Nomex+Mylar+Nomex), NK (Nomex+Kapton) and NKN(Nomex+Kapton film+Nomex). The NMN or NKN series was constructed by high temperature adhesive system, which would not delaminate or blister under high temperatures condition. Besides of that, the series feature high dielectric strength, good initial tear strength, tensile strength, and long-term thermal stability.

Since Nomex 416LAM is usually used by laminated with Mylar film or Kapton film into three-ply construction. These construction contributes high dielectric strength, good initial tear strength and tensile property and thermal stability. This laminated materials provide electrical insulation for slot liners, wedges and phases insulation motors, transformers, welding and mining equipment, etc. Besides, Nomex paper also provides excellent electrical insulation to improve durability and performance of EV batteries and motors without losing thermal stability.
